If you're looking for a pet sitter who treats your furry family members with love, care and attention, you're in the right place! With years of experience as a Dogs Trust Foster Carer and the flexibility of working from home, I offer a unique pet-sitting service that’s built on trust and a passion for animals.

Whilst taking care of your fur babies, I will look after your home like I would my own. I am fully insured, DBS checked and have very competitive rates. Please see my prices below.

Pricing

I use a very simple, easy to work out payment structure.

24 hours in your home = £30 plus mileage to and from your home is 25p per mile. See example below.

£30 for 24 hours (which starts when I arrive) plus 25p per mile to get to your home from mine and return. My postcode is CA11 7XR so you can easily work out the mileage for yourself using Google. 

A typical example:

I am looking after your pet from 6pm Friday evening to 6pm Sunday evening and you live in LA9 4AA.

This is 2 days (2 x 24 hours) = £60 + £14.15 for mileage.

It is 28.3 miles to your house from mine and back again which is 56.6 miles in total. Multiply 56.5 by 0.25p per mile and this comes to £14.15.

Total price for this visit would be £74.15 which is to be paid in advance.

What do you agree to do?

Provide comfortable accommodation for the duration.

Provide food for your pets and to leave everything I need so I do not incur expenses.

Provide good wifi so I can work from home when necessary so I don't have to leave your pets alone for too long.

Leave keys and alarm codes where necessary so I can ensure your home is secure.

If you are bringing your pet to me, then you need to supply all food, medication etc

What do I agree to do?

Take very special care of your pets and your home if I am staying in your property.

Provide insurance and/or DBSdetails if required.

Follow written instructions left by you regarding the care of your pets.

Look after the keys that have been entrusted to me that secure your home where applicable .

3. Where do you provide services?

Helen operates from her home in Penrith (postcode CA11 7XR) and can travel within the surrounding area—or your pet can stay with her in her home while you’re away. Travel time and distance are charged separately 

4. How do you charge for pet-sitting?

The fee is £30 per 24‑hour period, which begins at the time Helen arrives. Mileage is added at 0.25 pence per mile (round-trip from her postcode CA11 7XR). For example:

• 2 days of care = £60

• Round-trip mileage = 56.6 miles × £0.25 = £14.15

5. What’s included in the rate?

Helen will care for your pets lovingly and also look after your home, including securing keys, alarm codes, and maintaining the property as if it were her own. She’ll follow your written instructions exactly and keep you updated throughout the sitting period.

6. What do I need to provide?

• Food and treats (please leave enough for the entire period to avoid her incurring extra costs).

• Any medication or special feeding items.
  
  

• Stable internet connection (Wi‑Fi) so Helen can work from home and avoid leaving your pets alone too long.

• If pets come to her, please bring everything they’ll need for their stay

7. Are you insured and background-checked?

Yes – Helen is fully insured and has passed a DBS check. She can provide documentation if required 

8. How do I arrange a booking or check availability?

Simply get in touch via email (helen@petsmcpetterson.co.uk) or phone (07763 619610). Use the contact form on the website to tell Helen who you are, your pet's needs, and your dates. She’ll confirm availability and the total cost, including mileage
